Thermoproof SunSmart™

Who says you can’t do anything about the weather?

Not all glass is created equal. While many companies promote argon gas and basic Low-E coatings as premium upgrades, these are merely modern building code baselines. By pairing high-performance Cardinal LoE Glass and Argon gas with advanced Super Spacer™ technology, our Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) go far beyond the minimum. Built for comfort, efficiency, and long-term performance, our SunSmart™ configurations are tailored to your exact needs.

The Science Behind Comfort.

An IGU is a sealed unit designed to enhance energy efficiency and soundproofing. This means optimal insulation, keeping your space warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Dual Pane • SunSmart™ 1 & 2

Built with two glass panes filled with argon gas, offering excellent insulation and noise reduction.

Triple Pane • SunSmart™ 3 & 4

Built with three panes of glass, providing superior insulation, lowering heating costs, and acting as an excellent sound barrier.

What is Low-E?

Low-emissivity (Low-E) glass is coated with a thin transparent metal layer to reduce heat loss, improve energy efficiency, lower cooling costs, and minimize condensation.

Low-E²

In Summer, the Low-E² coating blocks infrared radiation, heat and UV rays. In winter Low-E² reflects warmth back inside.

Lodz 366

Upgrading to LoĒ 366 provides even greater protection against solar heat gain and UV rays.

LoĒ i89

Applied on the interior surface, i89 offers and extra layer of insulation by reflecting heat back into your home during winter.

LoĒ 180

Paired with LoĒ 366, LoĒ 180 acts as an insulator that helps protects against heat loss while maintaining visual clarity.

The North American Fenestration Standard combines testing and ratings into a harmonized standard, incorporated into the National Building Code of Canada. Every Thermoproof product is NAFS tested and certified.

The insulating character of the window. Lower is better. (E.g., Our 6000 Pacific SunSmart 4+ achieves a remarkably low 0.77 U-Value).

The fraction of solar radiation allowed into your home. Lower is better for keeping cooling costs down.

The ability to reduce noise across a wide range of frequencies. Higher is better! Our triple pane glass packages achieve an STC rating of 39.

All Thermoproof windows and doors test to the highest A3 standard for air leakage.
